20 Things Boomers Complain About That Annoy Younger Generations Too
We often assume that aging makes people more prone to complaining, especially when it comes to adapting to change. Many older adults struggle with new technologies, evolving social norms, and modern innovations that feel unfamiliar or unnecessary.
However, according to Gen Z, plenty of these so-called “boomer complaints” are just as frustrating for younger generations. From QR codes to cloud storage to self-driving cars, many modern conveniences can feel more like inconveniences even for those who grew up in the digital age.

You’re not alone! A lot of people young and old are frustrated by the increasing reliance on touchscreens and digital controls in cars. Physical buttons, levers, and dials are easier to use, especially while driving, and don’t require taking your eyes off the road. Plus, a good old-fashioned handbrake just feels more reliable than an electronic one. Tech is great, but sometimes simplicity is better!

I see your point. It’s crucial to address real issues, but not every minor offense needs to turn into a major controversy. Some resilience is necessary because, as you mentioned, difficult people will always exist. The key is finding a balance between standing up for what’s right and not letting every small irritation get to you.

I think they should ban TikTok.

Kids need to learn that their actions have consequences, especially with “prank” videos that are just public harassment. Other people aren’t NPCs, and you’re not the main character. If you knock something out of my hands for a “prank,” I will not hesitate to respond. It’s dystopian how these creators keep getting younger, and we need to address this before a 10-year-old making “prank” videos ends up seriously hurting themselves or someone else.

Are you an app-based company? No? Then don’t force me to download an app just to use your service.
I know you’re just trying to sell my data and profit off me twice. It’s a cheap, scammy move, and I will always give you a 1-star review for it.

Elementary and middle schoolers don’t need “graduation” ceremonies. Completing those levels is just the bare minimum of basic education, not an achievement.

People who modify their exhaust just to make their car louder I can tell the difference between a powerful engine and your wet fart machine.

I hate QR code menus—I want a physical menu, like we’ve had for centuries.

Nobody seems to respect each other anymore. It’s all “me, me, me,” with people expecting respect without actually giving it in return.

Planned obsolescence.
FuQ whoever came up with that concept—right in the bootyhole, with a cactus.
My uncle has a 1949 Chevrolet Deluxe. It still runs.
I inherited a GM double-bay electric range from my dad. It’s from the late 1950s… and it still works. Every part of it. It has saved me from buying a new one for YEARS.
There was a time when things were made locally by people who actually took pride in their craftsmanship.
Now? Everything is designed to hit the landfill two months after the warranty expires. We’re more technologically advanced than ever, yet we make worse garbage than the Boomers’ parents did. WTF?

Why do people say “literally” when they actually mean figuratively?

“Smart” appliances overpriced because they’re marketed as top-of-the-line and cutting-edge, then infinitely more expensive when they break three weeks in. Suddenly, you’re stuck paying extra just to get the damn thing working again, and of course, there’s only one guy in the entire state who can fix it, so the company charges you a fortune per hour. Throw in planned obsolescence, the environmental waste, and the sheer stupidity of it all, and you’ve got one angry b***h (me).

Cities need to STOP building those ugly a*s, overpriced condos and apartments.
I keep seeing wild grass fields and woodlands torn down for these abominations, and it makes me furious every time another microhabitat is destroyed just for profit.

Why is everyone always on their f*****g phones? Seeing friend groups sit together in silence, glued to their screens instead of talking, is just depressing.
Honestly, banning phones in schools isn’t a bad idea. Kids spend all day staring at screens, then wonder why they have no social skills or friends. Come on now. And I’m no extrovert myself, but at least make an effort.
